A Walk in the Park and So Much More

Phoenix Park Farmleigh

Last week I put together a post for Conde Nast Traveler about Phoenix Park here in Dublin and I was reminded of just how amazing it is. Phoenix Park is one of the largest in-city parks in Europe, has a herd of wild deer (!), the Dublin Zoo, the President’s house, Victorian gardens, monuments, a castle…the list is so long. It’s a popular spot for locals to run and cycle and bring their children, and it’s a great option for visitors to escape the busy city as well.

You can have a lovely virtual visit to Phoenix Park in my post on Conde Nast Traveler.

Thank you for the post. I have lovely childhood memories of the Phoenix Park growing up close by. I moved from Dublin to New Zealand almost 15 years ago. Your blog is an absolute treasure…I manage to get back to Dublin to visit family and friends every 1-2 years and I love to rediscover my home city as a ‘”tourist” ( does that make sense! I am a Dublin girl….but when you move abroad you see your home town/country through different eyes, almost every visit you discover something new as you have a greater appreciation when you live so far away). Dublin has changed so much in the last 15 yrs. Thanks to your blog posts I have visited places/sites/cafés etc in Dublin that I had never appreciated or even considered before. Keep up the great work…I am already planning my next visit!
