Designbirdie Giveaway!

February 1, 2011

Hello, everyone!

Some of you may have noticed there was a technological glitch on the site yesterday afternoon. Just about everything is ironed out, but I”m still working on a couple small problems.

The major problem? It”s not letting me upload any photos at the moment, and I”d wait for my web guru to help me figure it out, but I”m a little impatient and really want to get this giveaway going! By tomorrow, I hope I”ll be back in action, but in the meantime, we”ll work with what we”ve got!

So, our awesome giveaway today is from our new sponsor, Designbirdie. You”ve heard me talk about Designbirdie before and the lovely Mandi Cromer. She”s a talented illustrator and has the coolest Etsy shop with great prints with a little something for everyone. She”s got prints that would be perfect for a nursery, or your craft room, or your living room.

Or, you could order a – the paper anniversary!

Designbirdie even has really cute mini-activities for your kids on a rainy day!

So today, we have a giveaway from the lovely Designbirdie and it”s this print! It”s A4, which is roughly 8×10 inches, and I”ll ship it anywhere (did you know I”ve got mystery readers in Slovenia, Ecuador and Malaysia?!), all you have to do is leave a comment on this post. It can say anything – even just hello!

The commenting will close on Tuesday at 5pm Dublin time. And I”ll announce the winner on Wednesday and send the print on its way.

And I”ll be back tomorrow with pretty pictures for your Thursday!

***The contest is now closed. Thanks for entering!

Hello, Emily! As I write this I am looking out at mounds and mounds of snow, even though we got off light on this storm. Changed to freezing rain. I’ve had enough! In the olden days, this would be a good cookie baking day, but not now when I am still trying to recapture my girlish figure! Do you have any recipes for light treats? Your new website looks great (and so do you) and congratulations on your new job. A lot of positive changes for you. I’m glad.

Hi Mary Cath! I was trying to think of some healthy treats – what about smoothies? I make them when I’m trying to eat healthier but still want something sweet. I make mine with bananas, frozen strawberries, non-fat plain yogurt, light cranberry juice and ice cubes. Probably not the best treat when you’ve got 3 feet of snow on the ground but so yummy! Also…the flapjacks I posted last week are pretty healthy and in mine I used evaporated milk (less sugar) and a big spoon of honey. Very yum ๐Ÿ™‚

        Hey Emily,

I’ve been meaning to tell you all week and here’s the perfect place…
Last wk I was trying to make the flap jacks healthier and made them with bananas (it was a calorie conscious sprinter that came up with this). She advised me to knead 2 bananas into the same ingredients.
They don’t need as long to cook and they are a wee bit drier (and a lot less tasty)…but healthier all the same ๐Ÿ™‚ Your spoon of honey could be the saviour to this recipe.

playing around with an apple version of your no knead pumpkin rolls. will let you know how they turn out tomorrow. think I’ll leave the dough in the frig till morning so they’ll be nice and fresh all day long. I should be watching my figure like catherine but if i don’t have something a little satisfying not just filling i’m gonna just keep eating anything and everything!! so really i’m looking at these as diet food! and it does say an apple a day…..

Perhaps sometime this spring! I’m really enjoying your blog and can’t wait to see what else is available in your General Store. Very clever, and it brings back fond Maine memories.
